AM ROUTINE

1. CLEANSER: Sisley Paris Radiance Foaming Cream Makeup Remover Clenser Review: Sisley Paris Radiance Foaming Cream makeup remover, $120

In the mornings, I opt for a gentle cleanser. I use a half pump of the Sisley Paris Radiance Foaming Cream Makeup remover. I find that it doesn’t leave my skin feeling stripped or tight. Instead, I have a luxe and hydrated complexion, thanks to the peony extract in the product.

2. TONER: Rose Water and Witch Hazel Toner Review:
Witch hazel or Heritage Store rose water, $9 at Target

Toner helps remove surface oils and bacteria on the skin. For some skin types, toners like witch hazel can be too strong on the skin, so I recommend you test a patch on yourself. I love using Heritage Store rose water from Target because it leaves my skin feeling beyond dewy for hours to come. It’s perfect to decant into a purse-sized bottle for on-the-go misting.

3. VITAMIN C: Estee Lauder Perfectionist Pro Vitamin C Serum Review: Estee Lauder Perfectionist Pro Vitamin C Serum, $110

I treat my skin with vitamin C on a daily basis while out and about, and this serum definitely delivers. Vitamin C is the only skin-boosting active that works at the deepest level of the skin to reduce the apperance of dark spots and prevent the appearance of new spots. This serum is a bit of a splurge, but worth investing in.

4. SERUM: Earth to Skin Review: Earth to Skin Manuka Honey All-Over Serum, $9 at Walmart
I wasn’t expecting to love this stuff as much as I do! The consistency is very silky. When you first apply it, there’s a bit of a tacky feeling, but it instantly melts into your skin. One layer is all it takes for a honey-glazed sheen. A little bit does go a long way! Be sure to apply to your neck, face, chest, and the back of your hands.

5.MOISTURIZER: Caudalie Reservatrol Lift Moisturizer Review: Caudalie Reservatrol Lift Soft Cream, $45.50 on sale right now! (as of October 6, 2020)

This is my OG Caudalie pick for fall and early winter skincare. It’s al lightweight yet intensely moisturizing cream that delivers plumping hydration while leaving a pearlized finish. I love to use this as a moisturizing primer! It’s powered by Caudalie’s patented Vinefrine and reservatrol, which help to plump and protect the skin.

6. SUNSCREEN: Black Girl Sunscreen Review: Black Girl Sunscreen, $19 at Target and Blackgirlsunscreen.com

I could never forgive myself if I let you build a skincare routine that doesn’t include sunscreen! Black Girl Sunscreen doesn’t leave a white, ghosty cast at all. It goes on invisible and protects your skin thoroughly. I wrote an article for Glamour.com about the brand, read it here and fall in love.

PM ROUTINE

  1. DOUBLE CLEANSER OIL: Caralista Unoil Double Cleanse Elixir Review: Caralista Unoil Double Cleanse Elixir, $65

I begin my evening skincare routine with a double cleanse. I learned about double cleansing years ago, but never really practiced it until recently. Double cleansing is essential if you’re wearing sunscreen all day (which we should all be doing), as it breaks down all the layers of dirt and product on the face. Caralista’s Unoil dissolves all makeup and residue and reveals healthy, radiant skin. I rub it into my skin for about 2 minutes, enjoying the heavenly and luxe scent of this oil. I don’t know if my nighttime skincare routine would be nearly as pleasurable if it didn’t begin with this elixir!

  2. CLEANSER: Holifrog Shasta AHA Refining Acid Wash Holifrog Shasta AHA Refining Acid Wash, $38

As the second step in my double cleansing, I opt for Holifrog Shasta AHA Refining Acid Wash. I let it sink in for a couple of minutes while it works its acid-filled magic. Glycolic acid and lactic acid are among the first 5 ingredients. I love to use this product at night to slough off the dead skin and grime from the day.

  3. DERMAROLLING: Jenny Patinkin Derma Roller Review: Jenny Patinkin Rose on Rose Derma Roller, $75

The Jenny Patinkin derma roller is the perfect starter derma roller. It creates thousands of microchannels via tiny pricks on the surface of the skin to help with product absorption on a micro-level. I’d recommend only dermarolling if you don’t have an active breakout. After dermarolling, be careful with the products you apply following—opt for nourishing, not very chemical-heavy products, and always do a patch test before beginning any new beauty tool.

  4. SERUM: Rodial Beauty CBD Sleep Drops Serum Review: Rodial Beauty CBD Sleep Drops Serum, $105

The Rodial Beauty CBD Sleep Drops serum is ridiculously soothing, balancing, and anti-inflammatory serum. it contains CBD which helps to calm the skin and reduce the appearance of redness. I love to use it after dermarolling because it contains elasticity-boosting collagen, squalene (which is super moisturizing), and a ton of anti-inflammatory ingredients like purslane. The texture is very satiny without being oily and the scent is calming, especially at night.

  5. OIL: Mara Beauty Retinol Oil Review: Mara Beauty Algae Retinol Evening Primrose Green Tea - Face Oil, $120

This luxe nighttime oil is formulated for sensitive skin. It’s a vitamin-rich superhero product that helps to boost hydration and reduce the appearance of fine lines. It contains amino acids from fermented green tea, and nutrients from seaweed, which all work together to support healthy skin development and to plump up the skin. This product has 1.2% retinol, which makes it great if you’re ready to dip your toe into retinol. The scent has a green tea lilt to it, which mixes well with a drop of rose oil.
